So I'm new to blogging but as my major has changed to writing and research this will give me a great practice to the writing field. Well sorta!!! So here are my thoughts today....
I am a daily reader. I love romance, paranormal, historical, and some modern day books. I am currently reading Jeaninie Frost book Eternal Kiss of Darkness. I am in love with these books. I just started this one but Cat and Bones are just wonderful ( they are from the earlier books). The world she has created just comes alive in your mind. Reading is a vacation for me a great book comfy chair and I just disappear from all the grown up worries of the day. What bills to pay , what the kids are breaking or destroying today , the dog chewed up something else, husband needs this or misplaced that, and the most important just being an adult. In a book you become part of their world their worries and none seem as bad as the ones you are facing that day. Then you come across a book that has you in tears and you are reading, crying, and laughing at you self all in one then you know you have a keeper. Many of my keeper books I have read so many times I have had to replace them ....no more replacing My husband got myself an e reader :). Do you have those books that you just can not put down, can not stop returning to, or can not stop talking about?
Some of my other favorite authors are Melissa Mayhue, Pamela Palmer, Janet Chapman, Charlaine Harris, Karen Marie Moning, and Lydia Dare. Just to name a few. As soon as one of there books comes out it is in my hands and I am lost in there wonderful worlds they have created. I read over thirty authors but only listed a few off the top of my head. It is always the first three first, by far they are my favorite if you have never read a book by them i would recommend all of them. I could not pick just one of there books to get you going except to say I like to read from the beginning. I recently picked up Katie MacAlister book Love in the Time of Dragons. I did not realize at the time it was a branch of a book to two other series. So i spent the next week reading them all. Let me tell you she can make a dragon look sexy even if all along you thought he was the bad guy. Yummy!!! It was a great find and I am wanting to start reading her other books soon. Pamela Palmer I just happen to be in grocery store looked over at book rack and this sexy guy was on the cover, I picked it up and lucky I was it was the first in the series. Let me tell you it was a lucky find for me that day. Melissa Mayhue I had just finish Twilight series ( my first ever reads) and I wanted to keep reading so I picked her out on books a million and fell in love right in the first chapter. Janet Chapman was my next find she happen pretty much same way as Mayhue looking in books a million and boom her cover was so pretty I had to click on it. Many books are recommended to me that i read but the ones i search and find on my own usually surprise me in the best ways.
I feel as a mother you need an outlet. Whether it's reading, crafts, friends, etc. You need a place to escape and have momma time. Even if just an hour a day it helps you come back and be a great momma. I am a mom of four of the best kids in the world. Two of my kids have ADHD which is like have twins in one at times. So there is the reason I read daily to have that momma time to myself. I also shop. I love to shop!!! Coupons is my second outlet. I will do a post later on about couponing for anyone interested.
What are your outlets? Do you see yourself as a reader or a maker or something else? Well these are my momma thoughts today who knows what I will come up with next ....stay tuned :)
Well I was waiting on Billy to finish watching a hunting program before we turn in...and decided to go FIND your blog :-) And you did a great job....I like your style too :-) MY outlets are many....I'm a homebody by nature...so cooking..cleaning..foo fooing..and yup...writing are a few....and these just get the ball rolling...I love daydreaming and savoring moments...walks in the woods...setting on a creek bank with a cane pole and fishing worm :-) Oh I'm gonna mess around and do a blog....so I'll stop....good job Karla!
